Myanmar Culture

As Myanmar is home to over 130 ethnic groups, it’s not surprising that there is an incredible ethnic and cultural diversity in the country. The Bamar people are the largest ethnic group and other ethnic minorities include the Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan people.

Close to 90 percent of Myanmar’s population are Buddhists, and most of them embrace Theravada Buddhism.
